Vegetation and Hardscape objects

Vegetation and Hardscape commands are found in the Vegetation and hardscape Toolbar.

The geometry obtained from Terrain, Vegetation & Hardscape, and Irrigation are BIM objects. BIM objects contain not only 3D geometry but also relevant information about the object's specifications, performance, and behavior throughout its lifecycle.

RhinoLands BIM objects are called Lands Objects.

Lands Objects

Lands Objects encompass essential information about the element, including dimensions, shape, and various representation modes for 2D and 3D display. Additionally, they provide useful information for listing and documentation.

They are distinguished by unique characteristics that differentiate them from other obtained geometry:

  • Lands objects allow the possibility to toggle from 2D to 3D their display.
  • These are not simple geometry objects, they are inserted as blocks to contain related information. Therefore, curve, solid, or surface editing tools have no effect on them.
  • They have their own Editing panel, from which you can also change their visualization options or edit their insertion parameters at any time.
  • The keyboard input to run these commands from the command-line starts with the prefix la, followed by the specific command name.

The vegetation consists of plants that can vary in species, forms, and groupings to create a natural and appealing environment.

Insert Vegetation

  • Plant Plant: Inserts a specimen of the selected species from the Database.
  • Plant Row Plant Row: Inserts the selected plant species along a path curve.
  • Forest Forest: Inserts the the selected plant species inside a boundary curve.
  • Shrub Shrub: Inserts a specimen of the selected brush species from the Database.
  • Groundcover Groundcover: Fills an area with the selected plant species.
  • Topiary Topiary: Wraps any geometry with the selected plant species.

Hardscape commands are key for designing and constructing spaces in a functional and aesthetic manner.

Insert Hardscape elements

  • Wall Wall: Inserts a wall by defining its thickness, height and path curve.
  • Fence Fence: Inserts a customized fence along a path curve.
  • Stair Stair: Inserts a customized stair along a path curve.
  • Ramp Ramp: Inserts a ramp by defining its slope and path curve.
  • Path Path: Inserts a path by defining its section profile and path curve.

Insert Urban Furniture

  • Library Library: Inserts the selected furniture from the block library.
