Cone
The Cone command creates a surface cone.
Insert a cone
Steps:
- Draw the base circle. See the Circle command for option descriptions.
- Pick the end of the cone (apex), or type a value to set the height.
Cone
Command-line options
Directionconstraint
Direction constraints restrict the direction of the cone.
None Pick or type a number to set the height.
Vertical Creates a cone perpendicular to the construction plane.
AroundCurve Draws the base circle perpendicular to the picked point on a curve. The center line of the cone will be tangent to the curve.
Solid
Decides if the bottom will be capped to create a solid or open cone.
BothSides
Creates a cylinder symmetrical across the base circle. The height of the cylinder is twice as long as you specify.
Truncated Cone
The TruncatedCone command draws a cone whose apex is truncated by a plane.
Insert a truncated cone
Steps:
- Draw the base circle.
See the Circle command for option descriptions. - Pick a location or type a number to set the height.
The positive direction of the height is different based on the selected DirectionConstraint option. - Draw the end circle.
Truncated cone
Command-line options
Directionconstraint
Direction constraints restrict the direction of the truncated cone.
- None Pick or type a number to set the height.
- Vertical Creates a truncated cone perpendicular to the construction plane.
- AroundCurve Draws the base circle perpendicular to the picked point on a curve. The center line of the truncated cone will be tangent to the curve.
Solid
Caps the top and bottom openings or leave them open.
