The Cone command creates a surface cone.

Insert a cone

Steps:

  1. Draw the base circle. See the Circle command for option descriptions.
  2. Pick the end of the cone (apex), or type a value to set the height.

Command-line options

Directionconstraint
Direction constraints restrict the direction of the cone.

    None Pick or type a number to set the height.

    Vertical Creates a cone perpendicular to the construction plane.

    AroundCurve Draws the base circle perpendicular to the picked point on a curve. The center line of the cone will be tangent to the curve.

Solid
Decides if the bottom will be capped to create a solid or open cone.


BothSides
Creates a cylinder symmetrical across the base circle. The height of the cylinder is twice as long as you specify.

The TruncatedCone command draws a cone whose apex is truncated by a plane.

Insert a truncated cone

Steps:

  1. Draw the base circle.
    See the Circle command for option descriptions.
  2. Pick a location or type a number to set the height.
    The positive direction of the height is different based on the selected DirectionConstraint option.
  3. Draw the end circle.
